2002 Stanley Cup Finals

The 2002 Stanley Cup Finals were a best-of-seven series in which the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Carolina Hurricanes four games to one to win the Stanley Cup.

Game 1 of the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals: The opening game of the 2002 Stanley Cup Finals, won by Detroit 3–2 in overtime. Detroit took the series lead when Martin Lapointe scored in overtime.
Nicklas Lidström: A Swedish defenseman who played 20 NHL seasons for the Detroit Red Wings and captained the team. His two-way play anchored Detroit's defense during the title run.
