4 × 100 metres relay

A track relay in which four runners each cover 100 metres while carrying and passing a baton. The baton must be exchanged within marked zones.

Relay baton: A short tube passed between teammates in a relay race; it must be carried throughout each leg. The baton is the object every runner must carry and transfer without dropping.
