Knowra Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan was the fifth Umayyad caliph, ruling from 685 to 705. He restored Umayyad control after civil war and strengthened the caliphate’s administration, coinage, and public Arabic identity.

Sulayman ibn Abd al-Malik : An Umayyad caliph who ruled from 715 to 717, succeeding his brother al-Walid I. Another son of Abd al-Malik, Sulayman later succeeded within the dynasty he helped secure.
Dome of the Rock : An Islamic shrine on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, completed in 691–692 under Umayyad patronage. Its inscriptions and monumental design made Umayyad authority visible in Jerusalem.
Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf : An Umayyad governor and general who helped restore central authority in Iraq and the eastern provinces. His military campaigns and governorship extended Abd al-Malik’s control over Iraq.
