Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf

Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf was an early Muslim merchant and companion of Muhammad. Sunni tradition includes him among the ten promised Paradise.

Jannah: Jannah is the Islamic conception of Paradise, the final reward for the faithful in the afterlife. The promise associated with Ibn Awf’s traditional honor is entry into Jannah.
Umar ibn al-Khattab: Umar ibn al-Khattab was the second caliph, ruling from 634 to 644. Ibn Awf served on the council that selected Umar’s successor.
Ansar: The Ansar were residents of Medina who supported Muhammad and the emigrants from Mecca. Medinan hosts helped establish the community in which Ibn Awf rebuilt his livelihood.
