Knowra Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani (1880–1976) was a Bengali political leader and Islamic scholar who organized peasants and helped shape anti-colonial and leftist politics in East Bengal and Bangladesh.
Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy : A Bengali politician who served as prime minister of Bengal and later prime minister of Pakistan. Bhashani and Suhrawardy worked together in the Awami Muslim League before their political paths diverged.
Bengal Presidency : A major British Indian administrative province that included Bengal and, at different times, neighboring regions. Bhashani entered politics under British rule in the wider Bengal political world.
Peasant movement : Collective political action by rural cultivators seeking changes to land, labor, taxation, or political power. Bhashani built much of his following by organizing cultivators and rural poor.
