Abdul-Karim Qasim

Abdul-Karim Qasim was an Iraqi army officer who led the 1958 revolution that ended Iraq’s monarchy and became prime minister. He was overthrown and executed in 1963.

Kingdom of Iraq: The Iraqi monarchy established under British influence in 1921 and ended by revolution in 1958. Qasim’s revolution abolished this state and its Hashemite monarchy.
