Abdurrahman Wahid

Abdurrahman Wahid, widely known as Gus Dur, was an Indonesian Muslim cleric and politician who served as Indonesia’s fourth president from 1999 to 2001.

Nahdlatul Ulama: Indonesia’s largest Islamic organization, founded in 1926 and rooted in Sunni traditionalism. Wahid led this organization for more than a decade before becoming president.
