Abimael Guzmán

Abimael Guzmán (1934–2021) was a Peruvian philosopher and insurgent who founded and led the Shining Path, a Maoist guerrilla organization responsible for a violent internal conflict in Peru.

Shining Path: A Peruvian Maoist guerrilla organization founded by Abimael Guzmán that waged an insurgency against the state. Guzmán founded and commanded the organization, which made his doctrine a political force.
