Adnan Menderes

Adnan Menderes was Turkey’s prime minister from 1950 until his government was overthrown in the 1960 military coup. Convicted by a military court, he was executed in 1961.

Celâl Bayar: A Turkish politician who served as president from 1950 to 1960 and was sentenced to death after the 1960 coup, but reprieved. As president, Bayar was Menderes’s closest senior ally and shared his government’s overthrow.
