Adobe Creative Suite

Adobe Creative Suite was a collection of Adobe software applications for graphic design, video editing, web development, and related work. Numbered editions bundled products such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign before Adobe shifted to Creative Cloud subscriptions.

Adobe Photoshop: Adobe's raster graphics editor for manipulating images, painting, and compositing. Photoshop was a flagship image-editing application bundled in Creative Suite editions.
Adobe Systems: The software company founded in 1982 by John Warnock and Charles Geschke. Adobe developed and marketed the applications collected under the Creative Suite name.
Desktop publishing: The use of personal computers and software to produce page layouts for print or digital distribution. InDesign and related suite tools brought desktop-publishing workflows into one bundle.
Adobe Creative Cloud subscription: A recurring-payment license that provides access to Adobe Creative Cloud applications and services. It replaced the suite's conventional numbered-product licensing for Adobe's main creative offering.
Adobe Illustrator: Adobe's vector graphics editor for creating scalable illustrations, typography, and logos. Illustrator supplied vector drawing and illustration tools alongside Photoshop's raster editing.
Adobe Creative Suite 1: The first Adobe Creative Suite release, launched in 2003 as a bundle of creative applications. Its release established the numbered-suite model.
Digital imaging: The creation, processing, and display of images in digital form. Photoshop made image processing a central Creative Suite workflow.
Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio: Adobe's bundle of video and audio production applications, released as a separate product line. It shows how Adobe also sold focused creative bundles outside the main Creative Suite.
Adobe InDesign: Adobe's page-layout application for designing print and digital publications. InDesign handled page composition and publication design in the suite.
Macromedia: A software company known for web-authoring and multimedia products, acquired by Adobe in 2005. The acquisition brought products such as Dreamweaver and Flash into Adobe's portfolio.
