Affective Memory

Affective memory is an acting technique that draws on an actor’s recollection of past sensations and emotions to support a character’s experience.

Sense memory: An acting practice that recalls sensory details to make an imagined situation vivid. It focuses on remembered physical sensations, often used alongside emotional recollection.
Konstantin Stanislavski: A Russian theatre practitioner whose system of actor training shaped modern realistic acting. His early teaching gave affective memory a central place in actor preparation.
