Alan Rickman

Alan Rickman (1946–2016) was an English actor and director known for distinctive performances on stage and screen, including Hans Gruber in Die Hard and Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films.

Hans Gruber: The fictional German criminal mastermind portrayed by Alan Rickman in Die Hard. Rickman’s film debut made Gruber a defining example of his controlled screen menace.
Royal Academy of Dramatic Art: A London drama school that trains actors and theatre professionals. Rickman studied there after leaving graphic design and received a scholarship.
The Winter Guest: A 1997 drama film about a mother and daughter in a Scottish seaside town. Rickman made his feature-film directing debut with this adaptation of Sharman Macdonald’s play.
