Nelson Mandela : Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid activist, political leader, and the country’s first Black president. Mandela succeeded Luthuli as ANC president and later described their differences over armed resistance.
Defiance Campaign : The 1952 Defiance Campaign was a mass civil-disobedience campaign against apartheid laws in South Africa. Luthuli joined the campaign, which helped make disciplined nonviolent protest central to ANC strategy.
