Alberto Santos-Dumont

Alberto Santos-Dumont (1873–1932) was a Brazilian aviation pioneer who designed and piloted early dirigibles and airplanes, including the 14-bis.

14-bis: A canard biplane flown by Santos-Dumont in 1906, credited with a public powered flight in Europe. Santos-Dumont designed and piloted this aircraft during his celebrated 1906 flights.
Airship: A powered, steerable aircraft that uses a buoyant gas envelope for lift. His dirigibles were airships whose engines and steering surfaces enabled controlled routes.
