Alfredo Cristiani

Alfredo Cristiani is a Salvadoran politician who served as president from 1989 to 1994 and led his government during negotiations that produced the 1992 peace accords ending El Salvador’s civil war.

Chapultepec Peace Accords: The 1992 agreement between El Salvador’s government and the FMLN that ended the Salvadoran Civil War and set out political and military reforms. Cristiani’s government signed these accords with the FMLN, ending the war during his presidency.
