The Algarve is Portugal’s southernmost region, stretching along the country’s Atlantic coast. It is known for its warm climate, beaches, and tourism.

Faro: Faro is a city in southern Portugal and the capital of the Algarve. It serves as the region’s administrative capital and main airport gateway.

Barlavento Algarvio: Barlavento Algarvio is the western Algarve, including the coast around Lagos, Portimão, and Sagres. Its Atlantic-facing cliffs and surf beaches contrast with the eastern lowlands.
Water scarcity: Water scarcity occurs when available water cannot meet human and environmental needs. Dry summers and tourism demand put pressure on the region’s water resources.
