Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a cloud computing platform that provides on-demand computing, storage, databases, networking, and software services through Amazon data centers.

Amazon EC2: Amazon EC2 is an AWS service that provides configurable virtual servers called instances. EC2 supplies the virtual machines that run many workloads on AWS.

Shared responsibility model: The shared responsibility model divides security duties between a cloud provider and its customer. AWS secures parts of the cloud, while customers remain responsible for many configuration and data controls.
