Ambiorix

Ambiorix was a leader of the Eburones, a Belgic people in northeastern Gaul, who led a revolt against Julius Caesar’s forces in 54 BCE.

Battle of Aduatuca: A Roman defeat in 54 BCE, when Eburone forces ambushed a legion and a half under Quintus Titurius Sabinus and Lucius Aurunculeius Cotta. The ambush at Aduatuca was the revolt’s decisive opening victory.
