Anastasian War

The Anastasian War was a conflict between the Byzantine and Sasanian empires from 502 to 506, fought chiefly in Armenia and Mesopotamia. It ended with a truce that left the frontier largely unchanged.

Sasanian invasion of Roman Mesopotamia (502): A Sasanian offensive in 502 that captured several Roman frontier cities and began the Anastasian War. The invasion opened the conflict and brought the war directly to the Mesopotamian frontier.
