Andean condor

The Andean condor (Vultur gryphus) is a large South American vulture that soars over the Andes and adjacent Pacific coasts. It is among the world’s largest flying birds.

New World vultures: A family of scavenging birds native to the Americas, including condors and the turkey vulture. The Andean condor belongs to this American vulture lineage.
Andes: A mountain range extending along the western edge of South America. The range gives the species its name and contains much of its habitat.
