Andrea Doria

Andrea Doria (1466–1560) was a Genoese admiral and statesman who commanded fleets for several rulers and reshaped the government of Genoa.

Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor: The Habsburg ruler who governed the Holy Roman Empire and a vast European and overseas realm. Doria entered Charles V’s service in 1528 and commanded imperial naval forces.
