Aneurin Bevan

Aneurin Bevan (1897–1960) was a Welsh Labour politician who, as minister of health from 1945 to 1951, led the creation of Britain’s National Health Service.

National Health Service: The United Kingdom’s publicly funded healthcare system, established in 1948 and largely free at the point of use. Bevan’s central achievement was creating the NHS through the National Health Service Act 1946.
