Ante Pavelić

Ante Pavelić was a Croatian fascist politician who led the Ustaše and headed the Independent State of Croatia from 1941 to 1945.

Ustaše: The Croatian fascist movement that ruled the Independent State of Croatia during World War II. Pavelić founded and led the movement that made his dictatorship possible.
Independent State of Croatia: An Axis-backed state that governed much of present-day Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1941 to 1945. It was the state Pavelić headed and the instrument through which the Ustaše governed.
