Anti-Mafia Pool

The Anti-Mafia Pool was a group of Palermo magistrates who coordinated investigations into Cosa Nostra during the 1980s. Its shared investigative method helped build major prosecutions against the Sicilian Mafia.

Maxi Trial: A landmark prosecution of hundreds of alleged Cosa Nostra members in Palermo, beginning in 1986. The Pool’s investigations supplied the evidence and analysis behind this mass prosecution.
Antonino Caponnetto: An Italian magistrate who led Palermo’s investigative office and organized the Anti-Mafia Pool. Caponnetto assembled the magistrates and encouraged their coordinated investigative method.

Giuseppe Di Lello: An Italian magistrate who worked with the Anti-Mafia Pool in Palermo. Di Lello was among the magistrates who shared investigations within the group.
