Anti-tank guided missile

An anti-tank guided missile is a guided weapon designed to destroy armored vehicles. It can be directed toward a target after launch by a human operator or an onboard guidance system.

Missile guidance: The process of steering a missile toward a target using measurements and control commands. Guidance determines how an anti-tank missile tracks or is steered toward its target.
Unguided rocket: A rocket-propelled projectile that receives no steering corrections after launch. Unlike a guided missile, it cannot adjust its course toward a moving target.
Ruhrstahl X-7: A German experimental wire-guided anti-tank missile developed during the Second World War. The X-7 was an early attempt to apply missile guidance to battlefield anti-armor combat.

Infantry fighting vehicle: An armored vehicle that transports infantry and supports them with direct-fire weapons. Many modern infantry fighting vehicles carry anti-tank missiles alongside their guns.
