Antonio Pigafetta

Antonio Pigafetta was an Italian scholar and explorer who sailed on Ferdinand Magellan’s expedition and recorded its journey, including the first circumnavigation of Earth.

Magellan expedition: The Spanish expedition led by Ferdinand Magellan that began the first circumnavigation of Earth in 1519. Pigafetta’s account is a principal firsthand record of this voyage.
