APG IV system

The 2016 Angiosperm Phylogeny Group classification organizes flowering plants into orders and families based on evolutionary relationships inferred from molecular and morphological evidence.

Angiosperm: A flowering plant whose seeds develop within an ovary that matures into a fruit. APG IV classifies the full diversity of this plant group.
Molecular phylogenetics: The reconstruction of evolutionary relationships using DNA, RNA, or protein sequences. Sequence-based trees supplied much of the evidence for APG IV relationships.
APG system: A series of consensus classifications of flowering plants published by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group. APG IV is the fourth major edition in this classification series.
