Apsley Cherry-Garrard

Apsley Cherry-Garrard (1886–1959) was a British Antarctic explorer and writer who joined Robert Falcon Scott’s Terra Nova expedition and later wrote The Worst Journey in the World.

Winter Journey to Cape Crozier: A hazardous 1911 winter expedition to Cape Crozier to collect emperor penguin eggs. Cherry-Garrard joined Edward Wilson and Henry Bowers on this journey, later called the worst journey in the world.
Robert Falcon Scott: A British naval officer and Antarctic explorer who led the Terra Nova expedition and died returning from the South Pole. Scott commanded the expedition that Cherry-Garrard joined.
