Aq Qoyunlu

The Aq Qoyunlu were a Turkmen tribal confederation and ruling dynasty that governed parts of eastern Anatolia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and Iran from the fourteenth to fifteenth centuries.

Bayandur tribe: A Turkmen Oghuz tribe associated with the Aq Qoyunlu ruling house. The dynasty claimed descent from Bayandur, anchoring its authority in Turkmen tribal genealogy.
Uzun Hasan: The Aq Qoyunlu ruler who expanded the dynasty across Iran and defeated the Kara Koyunlu in the fifteenth century. His reign marked the confederation’s greatest territorial expansion and diplomatic reach.
