Arab conquest of Egypt

The Rashidun Caliphate’s campaign from 639 to 642 that ended Byzantine rule in Egypt and brought the province under Arab Muslim control.

Amr ibn al-As: An Arab commander who led the Rashidun invasion of Egypt and became its first governor. He directed the campaign and negotiated the surrender of major Egyptian cities.
Byzantine–Sasanian War of 602–628: A prolonged war between the Byzantine and Sasanian empires that ended with both powers severely weakened. Byzantine exhaustion left Egypt more vulnerable to a new invasion.
