Architectural scale : A graduated measuring instrument or drawing ratio used to represent building dimensions accurately. Architectural scale translates sheet measurements into dimensions of the proposed building.
Vitruvius : A Roman architect and engineer whose treatise De architectura is the only surviving ancient work on architecture. Vitruvius described architectural design principles and representational methods in antiquity.
Architectural design process : The sequence of activities through which an architectural project is developed, communicated, and prepared for realization. Drawings record and test decisions throughout the development of a building.

Architectural model : A physical or digital three-dimensional representation of a building or design proposal. Models make spatial relationships tangible in ways that flat architectural drawings cannot.
