Argentine Revolution

The Argentine Revolution was a military dictatorship that ruled Argentina from 1966 to 1973 after overthrowing President Arturo Illia. It sought to reorganize political, economic, and social life while banning party politics.

Juan Carlos Onganía: An Argentine general who led the 1966 coup and served as president from 1966 to 1970. He established the dictatorship’s initial authoritarian program and ruled through its first phase.
Arturo Illia: An Argentine physician and politician who served as president from 1963 until his overthrow in 1966. His elected government was deposed by the coup that began the dictatorship.
