Aristides Pereira

Aristides Pereira was a Cape Verdean independence leader and politician who served as the country’s first president, from 1975 to 1991.

Amílcar Cabral: Amílcar Cabral was a Guinean-Bissauan and Cape Verdean agronomist and revolutionary who co-founded the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde. Cabral co-founded the independence movement with Pereira and led it until his assassination in 1973.
