Arthur Ashe

Arthur Ashe (1943–1993) was an American tennis player and civil rights activist. He won three Grand Slam singles titles and became the first Black man to win Wimbledon.

1968 US Open (tennis): The first US Open tennis tournament, held in 1968 and won by Arthur Ashe in men's singles. Ashe became the first Black man to win a men's singles title at a major tournament.
