Arthur Currie

Arthur Currie was a Canadian general who commanded the Canadian Corps from 1917 to 1919, leading it through major Allied offensives on the Western Front.

Julian Byng: A British general who commanded the Canadian Corps from 1916 to 1917 and later led the Third Army. Byng preceded Currie as Canadian Corps commander and helped prepare its growing autonomy.
