Arthur Meighen

Arthur Meighen (1874–1960) was a Canadian Conservative politician who served as prime minister from 1920 to 1921 and briefly in 1926. A forceful parliamentary debater, he led the Conservative Party through political realignments after the First World War.

Robert Borden: Robert Borden was Canada’s prime minister from 1911 to 1920 and led the country during the First World War. Meighen served in Borden’s cabinet and succeeded him as Conservative leader and prime minister.

John Bracken: John Bracken was a Canadian politician who led the Progressive Party of Manitoba and later the federal Conservatives. Bracken replaced Meighen as federal Conservative leader in 1942.
King–Byng affair: The King–Byng affair was the 1926 constitutional dispute over Governor General Julian Byng’s refusal of William Lyon Mackenzie King’s request for dissolution. King’s resignation during the affair briefly brought Meighen back to office.
