Artificial hair integration

Artificial hair integration blends synthetic or human hair with a person’s existing hair to add volume or cover hair loss. Methods include attached extensions and hair systems that incorporate the wearer’s own hair.

Fusion hair extensions: Extensions bonded to small sections of natural hair, commonly with keratin-based tips and heat or ultrasonic tools. Bonded strands create a durable integration without a continuous track.
Hair topper: A partial hairpiece worn over the crown or another localized area to add coverage or volume. Toppers integrate with surrounding hair to conceal thinning over the top of the head.
Human hair: Hair fibers produced by humans, used in wigs and extensions for their natural movement and styling versatility. Human-hair additions can be matched and styled alongside the wearer’s own strands.
Hair transplant: A surgical procedure that moves hair follicles from one area of the scalp to another. Transplantation relocates living follicles rather than attaching additional hair.
Tape-in hair extensions: Hair extensions attached in sandwiches around natural hair using adhesive strips. Flat adhesive bonds let added hair lie close to the scalp.
Wig: A complete covering of the scalp made from human or synthetic hair. Unlike partial integration, a wig can cover the wearer’s natural hair entirely.
Synthetic hair: Man-made fibers designed to resemble hair and used in wigs, extensions, and hairpieces. Synthetic additions offer a distinct material choice with different styling and care limits.
Hair bonding: A method of securing a hairpiece to the scalp or existing hair with adhesive. Bonding can attach a system directly, rather than weaving added strands through natural hair.
Sew-in hair extensions: Hair extensions stitched onto braided natural hair, usually as wefts. Braided foundations support added hair without bonding each strand individually.
Hair weft: A curtain of hair sewn or bonded along a narrow strip for attachment to natural hair. Wefts supply continuous sections of added hair for volume and coverage.
