Asiatic salamander

An amphibian in the family Hynobiidae, whose species are native to Asia, with a few also occurring in European Russia. Hynobiids retain several traits associated with early salamander evolution.

Hynobiidae: A family of salamanders native mainly to Asia, including the Asiatic salamanders. This is the taxonomic family to which every Asiatic salamander belongs.
