Atlantic canary

The Atlantic canary is a small finch native to the Canary Islands, Madeira, and the Azores. It is the wild ancestor of the domesticated canary.

Canary: A domesticated songbird developed from the Atlantic canary through centuries of selective breeding. The domestic bird descends from this wild species, but differs in appearance and song.
