Aurelian

Aurelian was Roman emperor from 270 to 275. He reunited the empire by recovering the breakaway Gallic and Palmyrene territories and strengthened Rome’s defenses.

Palmyrene Empire: A breakaway state centered on Palmyra that controlled much of Rome’s eastern territory in the third century. Aurelian defeated its forces and brought its territory back under Roman rule.
