Aztlan

Aztlan is the ancestral homeland named in Mexica migration traditions, from which the Mexica were said to have traveled to the Valley of Mexico.

Codex Boturini: A sixteenth-century pictorial manuscript depicting the Mexica migration from Aztlan toward central Mexico. It is the best-known visual account of the journey said to begin at Aztlan.
Codex Mendoza: A sixteenth-century manuscript documenting Mexica rulers, tribute, and daily life through images and glosses. Its foundation narrative connects Mexica identity and Tenochtitlan to migration traditions.
