B. V. Karanth

B. V. Karanth (1929–2002) was an Indian theatre director, actor, and music composer who shaped modern Kannada theatre and directed productions in several Indian languages.

Girish Karnad: An Indian playwright, actor, and film director who wrote influential plays in Kannada and English. Karnad’s plays became notable material for Karanth’s theatre work.
National School of Drama: India’s national theatre training institution, established in New Delhi in 1959. Karanth studied there and later directed the institution.
