Baer–Babinet law

The proposed tendency for rivers to erode their right banks in the Northern Hemisphere and left banks in the Southern Hemisphere because of Earth’s rotation. Its explanatory role is disputed because the Coriolis effect is generally weak compared with local flow and channel conditions.
