Bagratid Armenia

A medieval Armenian kingdom ruled by the Bagratid dynasty, established in the ninth century and annexed by the Byzantine Empire in 1045.

Bagratid dynasty: An Armenian noble dynasty whose rulers established a kingdom in the ninth century. The dynasty’s growing authority supplied the kingdom’s ruling house.
Ashot III of Armenia: A Bagratid king who ruled Armenia from 952 to 977 and made Ani his capital. His reign established Ani as the kingdom’s principal royal center.
