Bai Juyi

Bai Juyi (772–846) was a Tang-dynasty poet and government official whose clear, accessible verse addressed social conditions, politics, and personal experience.

Song of Everlasting Sorrow: A long narrative poem by Bai Juyi about the love of Emperor Xuanzong and Yang Guifei and the An Lushan Rebellion. Its blend of political catastrophe and tragic romance became one of his most celebrated works.
