Banana Wars

The Banana Wars were a series of U.S. military interventions in the Caribbean and Central America, mainly from the 1890s through the 1930s, to protect American political and commercial interests.

United States Marine Corps: The U.S. military branch responsible for many interventions and occupations in the Caribbean and Central America. Marines carried out the landings and occupations that defined many Banana Wars interventions.
United States occupation of Nicaragua: A series of U.S. military interventions and occupations in Nicaragua from 1912 to 1933. It was one of the longest and most consequential U.S. occupations of the period.
