Banda Aceh

Banda Aceh is the capital and largest city of Aceh Province in northwestern Indonesia, on the island of Sumatra. It is a regional center shaped by Acehnese history, Islam, and the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Baiturrahman Grand Mosque: A historic mosque in central Banda Aceh and a landmark of Acehnese Islamic architecture. Its survival amid the 2004 tsunami made it a powerful symbol of the city.
