Barons' Crusade

The Barons' Crusade was a 1239–1241 expedition to the Holy Land led by European nobles, notably Theobald I of Navarre and Richard of Cornwall. It relied chiefly on diplomacy and truces rather than major battles.

Treaty of Jaffa (1241): A truce negotiated by Richard of Cornwall and Ayyubid authorities that restored parts of the kingdom of Jerusalem to crusader control. It formalized the expedition's principal territorial gains.
Theobald I of Navarre: King of Navarre and count of Champagne who led the first major contingent of the Barons' Crusade in 1239. He commanded the expedition's initial campaign in the Holy Land.
