Battle of Galicia

A major First World War campaign fought across Galicia from August to September 1914, in which Russian forces defeated the Austro-Hungarian armies and occupied much of the region.

Battle of Kraśnik: A Russian-Austro-Hungarian battle fought near Kraśnik from 23 to 25 August 1914. This Austro-Hungarian victory opened the campaign’s southern fighting.
