Battle of Hattin

A decisive 1187 battle in which Saladin’s forces defeated the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem near the Horns of Hattin, opening the way to Jerusalem’s capture.

Siege of Tiberias (1187): A siege in which Saladin’s forces attacked Tiberias, prompting the Crusader army to march to its relief. The siege drew the Crusader army away from its water sources and toward Hattin.
Kingdom of Jerusalem: A Crusader state established in the Levant after the First Crusade, lasting from 1099 to 1291. Its army and political leadership were shattered at Hattin.
